Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has told BBC Sport that Aston Villa might struggle in the 2015-16 Premier League campaign.
The former England international striker believes that because of the players the Villans have sold so far this summer, they could be in danger of getting relegated to the Championship.
"Those three (Watford, Bournemouth and Sunderland) will struggle, but Leicester might, Aston Villa might because of the players they've sold, and Sunderland,” Shearer told BBC Sport.
Struggles for Aston Villa
Villa have been quite busy in the transfer market so far this summer, signing no fewer than seven players.
However, the Premier League outfit have lost two of their best players in Christian Benteke and Fabian Delph.
While Belgium international striker Benteke has joined Liverpool, England international midfielder Delph has signed for Manchester City.
It will be interesting to see how Villa manager Tim Sherwood copes with the loss of the aforementioned duo.
Villa do have a good squad, and for them to avoid getting sucked into a relegation battle, they need to start the season strongly.
