United fans react on Twitter to Schweinsteiger's performance against PSG

The new Manchester United midfielder started against Paris Saint-Germain this week.

Manchester United suffered their first defeat in four pre-season matches on Wednesday night as they went down 2-0 to Paris Saint-Germain.

Before that, Louis van Gaal’s side had secured victories against Club America, San Jose Earthquakes and Barcelona but this time they looked shaky at the back and shipped two goals that suggested plenty of work still has to be done on the training field.

Summer signing Bastian Schweinsteiger has been used sparingly to date but the German international started this match, and yet the 30-year-old will not have convinced the United faithful that he should feature ahead of fellow midfielders Michael Carrick and Morgan Schneiderlin just yet.

Schweinsteiger’s class is undeniable, but he is clearly not yet match-fit and as a result he will surely start the Premier League campaign on the bench when United play Tottenham on 8 August.

Following the match against PSG we took to Twitter to see what United fans thought of the German star’s latest performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
