Report: West Ham United aim to hijack Thilo Kehrer's free transfer to Inter Milan

The club seemed to be out of the running for the former Schalke 04 talent.

West Ham United are seemingly back in for German youngster Thilo Kehrer according to reports in Italy today, which seem to suggest that his reportedly imminent move to Italian giants Inter Milan is stalling.

The Schalke 04 player is reportedly being offered a better deal by West Ham, who are hoping to sign the player after he went AWOL on Schalke earlier this month, as reported by TGCOM24.

A Germany under-19 international, he is yet to make his professional debut, but still teams are playing tug-of-war over his future destination.

Kehrer is a top talent, a cultured defender that Germany hope will one day break into the senior side.

90min are reporting that Kehrer is still keen on an Inter move but that West Ham have offered him better terms, which has the Nerazzurri concerned over his deal.

He is available on a free transfer after his contract at Schalke came to an end. However the German outfit are disputing this – so his situation remains something of a mystery.

Whatever the case, West Ham do not appear to be pout of the running just yet.
