Pochettino says Yedlin could leave Tottenham on loan; defender comfortable whatever happens

The Tottenham Hotspur right-back could be set for a season out on loan.

Tottenham Hotspur defender DeAndre Yedlin has been speaking about the prospect of going out on loan next season in comments published by FourFourTwo.

The USA international arrived at White Hart Lane in January following an extended stay at MLS side Seattle Sounders, but despite his blistering pace he only managed 12 minutes as a late substitute against Aston Villa.

He did feature for Tottenham in their pre-season clash with MLS All-Stars on Tuesday but with Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker and Eric Dier all able to play at right-back next season Yedlin could be set for a temporary spell away from North London.

In comments published by FourFourTwo, Yedlin said, “I’m feeling comfortable wherever I go; whether it be with Tottenham, whether that be a loan, it doesn’t matter.

If he does move on there is no doubt his pace down the flank would be a potent weapon for whichever side is lucky enough to have him, and it could well be the making of him in the Premier League.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino also confirmed a loan move was a possibility when he said, “We need to see him and speak with him and maybe he stays with us the next season, maybe no.”

In time Yedlin has what it takes to succeed at White Hart Lane, but Trippier’s signing means that may not be as early as next season unless he gets a chance on the wing.
