The Argentine international may have played his last game for Manchester United.
According to Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague, Manchester United have agreed a deal to sell Angel Di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
The Argentine international only arrived at Old Trafford 12 months ago for a club-record £59.7million, but after starting well the winger’s form quickly tailed off and by the end of the campaign he was little more than a very expensive substitute.
Better things were expected of the former Real Madrid star this season, but Balague has taken to Twitter to suggest the 27-year-old has a new club.
Balague wrote, “The Di Maria deal to PSG was all done and dusted yesterday in Paris,” before adding, “The Di Maria deal agreed with PSG yesterday is for a €63million fee (£44.2million).
That would be quite a financial hit for United but with Memphis Depay now at the club and Di Maria seemingly failing to settle in England it may be the best move for all concerned.
The Argentine was tipped to be United’s next superstar but things did not work out like that and if Balague is right, PSG have got their man a year after initially being linked with him.
