Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has responded on Twitter to a Manchester United fan who questioned his decision to reject the multiple Premier League winners in favour of staying at St James' Park.
Shearer enjoyed an illustrious career with the club he is most associated with but one supporter asked if he regrets missing out on winning more trophies with Manchester United.
However, the 44-year-old, who has transformed his reputation since getting Twitter and coming up with consistently quick-witted replies in exactly such situations, hit back with the following reaction:
The Newcastle icon had earlier reflected on joining the club all of 19 years ago, thanking the Magpies for 10 'great years' on Tyneside.
Shearer had enjoyed a stellar career ahead of his move to St James' Park and continued his fine work in front of goal during a spell Newcastle fans won't forget.
The current Match of the Day pundit clearly enjoyed his time with the club so much he has no regrets about not joining Manchester United.
Newcastle lost 2-1 to York City in their most recent pre-season friendly on Wednesday night.
