Tottenham Hotspur youngster Dele Alli has taken to Twitter to describe the feeling of wearing the club’s colours in their latest friendly game.
Great feeling wearing that shirt! Been a great experience out here in the U.S #COYS— dele alli (@dele_alli36) July 30, 2015
However, despite the result, it was a very good chance for the club’s younger players and fringe players to get a chance, as they look to influence manager Mauricio Pochettino’s thought processes ahead of more important and more significant games.
Alli is one youngster who will be looking to impress in the Premier League this season but he faces a challenge in terms of forcing his way into Tottenham’s midfield.
That area of Pochettino’s squad is heavily congested so Alli will have to show an ability to adapt and play different positions across the middle, as he looks to fit in.
He may not start the season for Spurs but when he does get a chance, he needs to be ready to grasp it with both hands and to try and replicate the impact of other younger players like Harry Kane and Nabil Bentaleb among others.
If he can make half the impression that duo did last year, the club should be pleased with that.
