Former England man Danny Murphy has suggested it's going to be difficult for Arsenal to win the league.
Murphy suggested that the Gunners just need a little bit extra in terms of quality and options in key areas to give themselves a better chance of closing the gap on Chelsea and Manchester City, who finished above them.
However, Arsenal built some good momentum towards the back end of last season and have carried that through into the pre-season period.
“I think they just need a little bit more. We’ve talked all summer and all last season about probably another central midfielder, another centre half and maybe another striker, but none of them have materialised so for me I think they’ll just be there or there abouts again,” he said on talkSPORT.
“They won’t win the league with that squad.”
Do Arsenal have enough to win the league?
Arsenal with their very best team in the Premier League, could certainly push their rivals all the way.
The problem is that it’s going to be almost impossible for Arsene Wenger to name his strongest possible eleven on a weekly basis throughout the season.
Injuries, suspensions and the necessity of rest periods are all going to be very important and something that the boss can’t ignore.
Will Arsenal do any more business?
Wenger has always maintained that he will look at signing new players if he feels they offer a better option to what he already has for that position.
If the right player comes up, Arsenal will look at them and they have the resources to be able to go after them.
