Out of all the extravagant staff bonuses, this may take the cake.
The New York Post the CEO of a Turkish online food ordering business has dished out bonuses totaling $36.8m to his 114 employees following the sale of the company to German site Delivery Hero in May.
Nevzat Aydin, founder of Yemeksepeti.com, decided to share the profits of the $802.3m sale with bonuses averaging $323,000 each, or roughly 150 times the average monthly wage of most employees.
Aydin, who became part of the Delivery Hero management team after the sale, told the Hurriyet Daily News that there were emotional reactions from staff.
'Some employees cried, some screamed, some wrote letters of thanks', he said.
