Villa fans delighted by Crespo signing; but more interested in Adebayor

The Aston Villa faithful have welcomed their new signing but all eyes are on who's next... particularly the Tottenham Hotspur striker.

Aston Villa fans were pleased to see their club add to their already extensive summer recruitment programme as Jose Angel Crespo was announced as the Villans' new full-back.

Many joked that it was a few years too late to sign a Crespo on Twitter but the general consensus was one of optimism as Tim Sherwood continues to bring new faces to Villa Park.

Plenty, however, are only seeing Crespo as another name on the team-sheet and are turning their attentions to who could be next.

Fans want Jordan Veretout to follow suit but are even more interested in Tottenham forward Emmanuel Adebayor. Indeed, the Spurs striker was pictured at Aston Villa's training ground on Tuesday afternoon, according to Sky Sports, and supporters are keen to see 31-year-old join up with Jordan Ayew up front for the Midlands side.

Adebayor has been heavily linked with Aston Villa in recent weeks, with Tim Sherwood seemingly keen to team up with him again after inspiring his best form in years at Tottenham the season before last. Since the Villa boss's departure from White Hart Lane, the Togolese forward simply hasn't been able to revitalise his career, although issues in his personal life have no doubt affected him.

Here, then, is how Aston Villa fans reacted to the Crespo signing - with one eye on Adebayor, Veretout and co:
