Leicester City fans rave about Ben Chilwell’s superb display in friendly victory

Leicester City beat Burton Albion 2-1 with Jamie Vardy netting twice.

Leicester City fans have taken to social networking site Twitter in the aftermath of their 2-1 victory at Burton Albion in order to lavish praise on youngster Ben Chilwell.

The Foxes were in need of a big improvement on Tuesday following a disappointing outing in the 1-1 draw at League Two outfit Mansfield Town at the weekend.

Burton, now a League One side following last season’s promotion, were a sterner test for Claudio Ranieri’s side and the visitors’ team-sheet reflected that.

Former Chelsea boss Ranieri opted to name a strong team in a rather unconventional 3-4-3 formation, allowing Marc Albrighton and new signing Christian Fuchs to play almost as wingbacks.

A front three of Andrej Kramaric, Shinji Okazaki and Jamie Vardy is full of class, and it was the latter who found the net on both occasions to hand the Premier League outfit a morale-boosting win.

The England international will rightly pick up the plaudits after the game for his double strike, yet the real standout performer on the night was youngster Ben Chilwell.

Predominantly a left-back, the 18-year-old featured on the left side of Leicester’s back three and put in a wonderful performance up against former Queens Park Rangers winger Bruno Andrade.

Big things are expected of Chilwell in the coming seasons, and with performances of this ilk the England U19 ace will be pushing hard to claim a regular spot in Ranieri’s first-team XI.

Here is a selection of the plaudits he received from supporters on Twitter after the game:
