Could the Uruguayan forward be on his way to England this summer?

According to a report from Ternananews, Leeds United target Felipe Avenatti will be sold this summer if his current club get an offer that they feel matches the player’s value.

The 22-year-old Uruguay centre forward has long been linked with a move away from Ternana this summer but now it is being reported that his Italian club are willing to sanction a deal for the right price.

Leeds are one of the clubs linked in the story, along with Aston Villa who have been doing their recent shopping in France rather than Italy.

Considering Leeds have signed Chris Wood and Lee Erwin already this summer, a move for Avenatti seems rather unlikely, but the same cannot be said for Villa who are flush with cash following the sale of Christian Benteke and will be looking to ensure his goals are sufficiently replaced.

Avenatti scored 13 goals for Ternana last season and he previously scored 12 goals in 34 matches for Atletico River Plate Montevideo.

Very much a work-in-progress, he would be a risk considering the fee it is likely to take to sign him, but if he lives up to his potential he could ultimately prove to be a bargain.
