The Tottenham Hotspur defender is seemingly set for a switch to Italy.
Tottenham Hotspur defender Vlad Chiriches has long been linked with a transfer to Serie A, and now it seems the centre-back has moved on after he was pictured wearing a Napoli shirt.
Sky Sports reported on Tuesday evening that the Romanian international was in Italy for his medical ahead of a £3.5million move (plus £1.42million in add-ons) and having been snapped in the kit it seems his time at White Hart Lane has now come to an end.
Chiriches only arrived at Tottenham in the summer of 2013 but since then he has featured 43 times for Spurs, scoring two goals and providing one assist in the process.
Last season Chiriches managed just 10 Premier League appearances and only 18 in all competitions, and with an influx of new defenders arriving in North London this summer it is no surprise to see him move on.
Kieran Trippier, Toby Alderweireld and Kevin Wimmer are now all at the club, meaning that Chiriches’ chances of playing either at centre-back or at right-back were severely limited.
The image of the 25-year-old in the Napoli shirt was posted on Twitter by @HotspurRelated although we are awaiting official confirmation of the move from the clubs in question.
