Manchester United transfer news: No Pedro bid until Di Maria deal is complete; van Gaal back in for Bale

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Manchester United will not make a bid for Barcelona player Pedro until they have sold Angel Di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain.

The report goes on to claim that United are aware they can sign Pedro for £22million but that they want to focus on ending the Di Maria saga before moving on.

United are said to be close to agreeing a fee with PSG but personal terms are yet to be agreed between the Argentine international and the Ligue 1 side.

The same paper goes on to claim that Real Madrid will make another attempt to sign United goalkeeper David de Gea before the transfer window closes, with another player potentially used as bait even though United were always said to want Sergio Ramos only.

In other news, the Daily Star reports that United manager Louis van Gaal could turn his attention back to Real’s Gareth Bale after missing out on Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller.

The Dutchman is said to want to sign a world-class player this summer and the Star cites a claim from Bild’s chief reporter Christian Falk that van Gaal now has Bale in his sights, although it is likely to take a world-record bid to get his man.
