Everton fans react on Twitter to Cleverley's performance against Dundee

Everton Goodison 2

Everton took on Scottish side Dundee in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday evening but what did Toffees fans think of Tom Cleverley's contribution?

Everton made it two wins in a row when they followed up their 3-1 victory against Hearts with a 2-0 win against Dundee on Tuesday evening.

Ross Barkley and Conor McAleny scored the goals while last weekend’s hat-trick hero Romelu Lukaku was taken off with a hamstring injury.

The Belgian international was removed as a precaution and Everton manager Roberto Martinez will be hoping there is nothing to worry about with the new Premier League campaign just around the corner.

While Barkley and McAleny ensured Everton’s win, it was midfielder Tom Cleverley who generated plenty of comments on social media, with the former Manchester United player’s contribution suggesting he has a bright future at Goodison Park.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a renaissance while on loan at Aston Villa and now he will be hoping to maintain and even better that form at his new permanent club.

Cleverley has innate talent but has yet to find the consistency needed to be a top quality player, but on the evidence of his pre-season to date, that could be about to change.

Following their latest match we took to Twitter to see what Everton fans thought of Cleverley’s performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
