Carl Jenkinson praises the 'fantastic' changes made by Slaven Bilic

West Ham United defender Carl Jenkinson is confident that the future is looking bright for the club.

West Ham United defender Carl Jenkinson has praised the signings made by manager Slaven Bilic as he spoke to the club’s official website.

The right-back has re-joined the club on loan for the coming season from Arsenal and he’s suggested that there is plenty for supporters to be optimistic about, with the first game of the domestic season against Arsenal just around the corner.

“There have been a lot of changes, but the change is for the positive. You look at the players who have been brought in and they are fantastic players,” he told

“There's a lot of reason to be optimistic for the season because I think we're shaping up really well.”

Credit to Bilic for addressing a problem

Credit has to go to the manager for addressing a key problem with the team’s attack while adding quality players in other areas.

One of the areas the side arguably struggled over the second half of last season is in terms of creativity and scoring in big games.

Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini have come in to improve the options in terms of the creativity in midfield, which should mean more chances for the strikers in the side to attack.

The early signs are good

There is plenty for West Ham fans to be optimistic about because the early signs under his reign are very good.

The team has shown a resilience to grit through difficult games in Europa League qualifying and there is evidence that new signings haven’t taken long to gel and adapt to the mentality and philosophy which is already in place at the club.
