Saido Berahino's future continues to be the source of speculation in the press.
Seemingly fed up of the speculation and no action, West Brom themselves made it clear via their Twitter account on Tuesday morning that there have been no bids at all.
Ok, this is getting silly now. So let us make it clear. There has been NO bid for Saido. That's it. Carry on everyone #wba— West Bromwich Albion (@WBAFCofficial) July 28, 2015
This statement however proved like a red flag to a bull with Tottenham fans, who took it upon themselves to troll the Baggies twitter account with their responses.
@WBAFCofficial stop lying, saido has agreed terms when he met levy last week. Accept 20 million and move on— Aaron (@AMercerino) July 28, 2015
@WBAFCofficial Pretty sure our Social Media team started coming out with stuff like this about Bale.He left to a bigger Club.Like Saido will— TMinch (@TobyFMinch) July 28, 2015
Berahino is one of the most highly rated young strikers in the country, and has played with Tottenham's Harry Kane already for England's under-21s.
He did not feature at the recent European under-21 Championships, picking up a knee injury on the eve of the tournament, a stage upon which he could have added to his price tag, or made his suitors desire to sign him even stronger.
He has since returned, making his comeback from injury in a pre-season friendly against Swindon Town at the weekend.
