HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Sheffield Wednesday are in talks to sign Charlton defender Rhoys Wiggins.
Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal is in the market for a new left-back after letting Joe Mattock leave at the end of last season and Wiggins is thought to be their top target.
Wiggins is highly-rated at Charlton, but he has saw his progress hampered by injuries restricting him to just over 20 appearances in the last three seasons.
The 27-year-old also saw his path to the first-team blocked by the emergence of youth product Morgan Fox and Charlton are thought to be willing to let Wiggins move on.
Wiggins is thought to be keen on a move away as he wants to be playing regularly so that he can get his career back on track.
Wiggins joined Charlton from Bournemouth in 2011 and quickly established himself as a big fans' favourite at the Valley playing a key role in the side that won promotion to the Championship in the 2011/12 campaign.
