Liverpool play their penultimate pre-season friendly at the weekend so who will start?

Liverpool’s pre-season preparation has gone pretty well to date, with Brendan Rodgers’ side defeating Thailand All-Stars, Brisbane Roar and Adelaide United before drawing 1-1 with Malaysia All-Stars last time out.

Questions may be asked as to the standard of opponent the Reds have opted to come up against this summer, but whatever you think of that they have two matches remaining before the real business kicks off on 9 August against Stoke City.

Next up for Liverpool is a friendly against HJK Helsinki on Saturday and it could be the first chance for Liverpool fans to see summer signings Roberto Firmino and Christian Benteke in action for the club.

Philippe Coutinho and Emre Can could also feature at some point after playing for Liverpool’s under-21s at the weekend following their return after an extended summer break.

Liverpool have added so many players to their ranks recently and the trick for Rodgers is to blend them effectively into a winning team as soon as possible.
