The German midfielder recently signed for the Old Trafford side at the same time as Frenchman Morgan Schneiderlin.
The paper states that he has been carrying a small injury, but United are confident that he will be ready to play a part against Tottenham.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been quoted by the Daily Express claiming he feels Radamel Falcao will prove a lot of people wrong this season.
Falcao spent last season on loan at United but struggled to produce anything close to his best form at the club.
He’s since made a temporary move to Chelsea as a back-up striker, as they look to retain the title.
“He’s the kind of player who’s proved people wrong all of his career – at Porto, at Atletico and even at Monaco before his injury,” he said.
The Daily Star has reported that Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal will not be staying at the club beyond 2017.
The Dutchman signed a three-year deal when he moved to the Old Trafford club last summer.
However, he won’t be extending that deal because of a promise he made to his wife that he would look to retire.
“I promised that to my wife. We have not many years together any more. That is the reason,” he said.
