Ian Wright has told BBC Sport that Arsenal will win the 2015-16 Premier League title.
The Gunners have not clinched the league title since 2004, but the 51-year-old retired striker has backed his former club to reclaim it this time around.
“I think Chelsea will have to be favourites to win the league, but I am going to go with Arsenal,” Wright told BBC Sport. “I am gambling a lot on their start.”
Could Ian Wright’s prediction about Arsenal's Premier League title chances come true?
Arsenal do have a very strong squad, and the way they finished last season suggests that they have the potential to launch a Premier League title challenge in 2015-16.
The signing of star goalkeeper Petr Cech from Chelsea earlier this summer means that the Gunners will be better defensively.
The problem with Arsene Wenger’s side over the past few years has been that they have not started strongly enough.
Perhaps this time the North London outfit will not drop points cheaply in the opening weeks of the season.
Arsenal will also face a strong challenge from Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United for the Premier League title.
