A round up of news stories this morning related to Arsenal.
Chambers moved to Arsenal in a high profile deal last summer and played a bit-part role in the Arsenal first team last season.
The paper claims Saints boss Ronald Koeman wants to bring the player back to St Mary’s though it’s likely Arsenal would need to sign cover first.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been quoted by Goal.com claiming anyone looking into Arsenal’s spending over the last few seasons could be surprised.
Mourinho has suggested that the Gunners have spent big money on transfers over the last couple of years, as they’ve looked to close the gap on their rivals.
Mourinho’s comments came after Arsene Wenger implied that the club’s rivals were trying to buy their way to the title.
“If you add up the amounts the clubs have spent in the last three or four years I think maybe you will find a surprise,” he said.
McLintock is quoted by the paper suggesting that he’s never seen an Arsenal squad as strong as it is right now.
He claims it’s currently the closest to the title Arsenal have been for the last nine years.
“In the last nine years I’ve felt Arsenal were a long way from winning the championship but I think this is the closest they have been. The whole squad looks much stronger to me,” he said.
