As seen above, Manchester United have completed the signing of Argentine international goalkeeper Sergio Romero on a free transfer.
Having already signed Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay this summer, the Red Devils have completed yet another signing ahead of the new Premier League season.
Following the expiration of his contract with Sampdoria, Romero became a free agent - and now reunites with United boss Louis van Gaal having penned a three-year contract at Old Trafford.
Romero worked under Van Gaal during their time together at AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands, and ironically helped knock Van Gaal's Netherlands side out of the 2014 World Cup.
Now, with the futures of David De Gea and Victor Valdes uncertain, United have moved to bring in another goalkeeper in Romero - and the 28-year-old has plenty of international experience having established himself as Argentina's first choice stopper in recent years.
However, United fans have been somewhat mixed over the signing, with many suggesting that Romero isn't good enough to play for the Red Devils - certainly not as the first choice goalkeeper.
Others believe that Romero is a great addition as a backup goalkeeper in place of Valdes, and that he can make an impact when called upon.
Here are some of the reactions from United fans on Twitter after the signing of Sergio Romero earlier today...
If Valdes was destined to leave since the beginning, I'd say Romero is a brilliant signing for a back-up keeper. #mufc— Nikhil (@SatNavPass) July 27, 2015
Really think our transfer policy is bad if we look from last season. Many failures and players not good enough for #mufc - Romero latest one— Søren Dufresne (@soren206cc) July 27, 2015
Sergio Romero is a quality free transfer addition to the squad #MUFC— Brad Lambert (@IamBradLambert) July 27, 2015
The best thing about Romero deal is we have signed him as a "Fee agent" and he had great time with Argentina in Copa, Great signing #mufc— United Army! (@UltraRedMUFC) July 27, 2015
Romero's gonna be our 2nd goalkeeper, a great 2nd choice. #MUFC— United till I die (@SlimaneMUFC) July 27, 2015
Romero needs to be #2 at most. Would be really, really bizarre if LVG sees him a potential DDG replacement. #MUFC— select ─xl (@selectxl) July 27, 2015
Romero coming as backup is fine but I'm not sure why Lindegaard isn't enough. He does it quietly & without complaint. #MUFC— Laura (@Laura2012f) July 27, 2015
