Aston Villa signing Jordan Amavi comments on his transfer fee

Jordan Amavi moved from Nice to Aston Villa earlier this month.

Jordan Amavi has told L’Equipe that the size of the transfer fee Aston Villa paid to sign him this summer is only going to motivate him.

The 21-year-old defender moved to the Premier League outfit from French club Nice earlier this month.

According to The Daily Mail, the Villans had to pay as much as £10 million for the services of the young left-back.

There will be pressure on Amavi to succeed at Villa rightaway, but the France Under-21 international is ready for the challenge.

“I am not going to lie to you, on the face of it, it seemed strange to me,” the youngster told L’Equipe when asked about his thoughts on the transfer fee, as translated by Get French Football News.

“I did not think that a club would offer what Nice were asking for. When Aston Villa, decided to spend that amount of money there, it is not for nothing.

“That gave me great confidence. I will work to match their confidence in me.

Encouraging for Aston Villa fans

Amavi’s comments show that he is mature enough to understand that he needs to make a good impression at Villa rightaway.

The Frenchman is still very young and could take some time to adapt to the Premier League, but he seems to be ready for the task ahead.

Villa fans should be encouraged by Amavi’s comments and should have faith in him.
