A round up of the latest news related to Arsenal.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been quoted by City AM suggesting that he expects a new deal for Theo Walcott, will go through in the near future.

Wenger is confident that Walcott is about to officially sign on the dotted line of a deal, which keeps him at the club for the foreseeable future.

Walcott ended last season as the main striker in Arsenal’s line-up as they won the FA Cup.

“Not yet but we’re getting closer and closer. Hopefully we can finalise it vey soon,” he said.

The Daily Star has reported that Arsenal are thought to be in pole position to sign striker Fernando Llorente.

The paper claims that Manchester United are keen on an £8 million move for the experienced forward, currently at Juventus.

The paper suggests the move comes out of the fear from Wenger that he could miss out on first choice target; Karim Benzema at Real Madrid.

Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta told the club’s official website that he’s got real belief that the club can succeed this season.

Arteta has suggested that there is a togetherness in the side, which has been developed with the current group of players performing together for an extended period.

He believes that togetherness and understanding creates a platform for the team to push on and build on their recent domestic success.

“We have been together a while now and we have this belief now that we are capable of achieving something important,” he said.
