Report: Liverpool offer Fabio Borini to Leicester City and Aston Villa

Fabio Borini’s Liverpool career is reportedly drawing to a close.

According to a report in The Sun, Liverpool have offered Fabio Borini to Premier League duo Leicester City and Aston Villa as they look to move the Italian striker off the books.

The 24-year-old joined the Reds from AS Roma in 2012, linking up with boss Brendan Rodgers following the duo’s successful footballing relationship at Swansea City.

However, Borini struggled to make an impact on Merseyside and was soon shipped out on loan at Sunderland in 2013, spending an entire campaign in the North East and scoring seven Premier League goals.

It wasn’t enough to earn him a role in the Reds’ campaign last season and his agent has subsequently been busy trying to find him a new club this summer, as per a report in SportItalia.

Despite his agent telling SportItalia of a number of offers on the table, Borini is still no closer to leaving the club and fresh reports state that the Reds have decided to take matters into their own hands.

Aston Villa:

Following Christian Benteke’s switch to Liverpool, Villa have scope for a new striker and have recently been linked with the likes of Diego Rolan and Jordan Ayew, as per the Daily Mail.

Tim Sherwood seemingly has money at his disposal following the club’s recent sales, and adding forwards seems to be the number one priority right now. Borini is an interesting proposition, and one which could tempt the West Midlands outfit.

Leicester City:

Leicester have had a busy summer with Claudio Ranieri replacing Nigel Pearson as manager, yet only three new additions have arrived – a fullback, centre-back and creative midfielder.

The Foxes definitely have scope to add a new striker and provide competition for the likes of Jamie Vardy, Leonardo Ulloa and David Nugent, with the latter certainly not getting any younger.
