Tottenham youngster Ismail Azzaoui crowned Player of the Tournament in pre-season U21 competition

White Hart Lane 4

One of Tottenham Hotspur's most exciting young talents was crowned the best player at the recent National under-21 Tournament.

While Tottenham Hotspur’s senior squad was preparing to fly out to the USA for pre-season matches against MLS All-Stars and Real Madrid, some of the North London club’s young prospects were continuing their development in the National Under-21 Tournament in France.

Tottenham ultimately finished fourth in the completion but one player in particular should come home feeling very proud of his efforts after being crowned the Player of the Tournament.

That accolade went to 17-year-old Belgian winger Ismail Azzaoui who has been making waves at both club and international level for quite some time.

Azzaoui finished the recent European under-17 Championships with three goals, making him the joint-second-highest scorer in the competition. He has also been starring for Tottenham’s under-18 side and has already featured three times in the under-21 league, providing one assist in the process.

Tottenham have so many promising young players on their books that their fans may wonder which one to get the most excited about, and while there are others who are much closer to a first-team debut, Azzaoui’s emergence simply cannot be ignored.

Tottenham supporters should watch this one very closely, because at this rate he is going to be a star.
