Tottenham transfer news: McCarthy wants to listen to offers; Swans consider Adebayor bid; Veretout latest

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Tottenham Hotspur

According to a report from the Daily Star, Swansea City are considering a move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor if they lose Bafetimbi Gomis this summer.

Adebayor had a campaign to forget last season and his future at Tottenham looks unclear, with Aston Villa also said to be interested in signing the Togo international.

But the latest report claims former Totteham boss Tim Sherwood now has competition for a player he brought the best out of during his time at White Hart Lane.

The latest report claims Adebayor is available for £5million and that Swans boss Garry Monk sees him as a contingency plan.

In other news, the Daily Star also claims Tottenham target James McCarthy is considering his future at Everton.

The midfielder is said to be frustrated at Goodison Park and wants to listen to the offers from other clubs, although the report goes on to claim that Tottenham fear they may be wasting their time given that McCarthy still has three years left on his current deal.

And finally, French newspaper L’Equipe claims the president of French side Nantes has softened his stance in terms of a potential exit for midfielder Jordan Veretout.

The same publication claimed on Saturday that Tottenham were prepared to bid £10.6million for the 22-year-old and now it is being suggested that the player could well leave this summer.
