The Borussia Dortmund player follows the fortunes of the Glasgow club.
This week it has been reported by Bild that Kevin Grosskreutz could be on his way to Celtic, as the utility man is considering an exit from the club.
Back in March 2014 he spoke about his fondness for The Bhoys. He told The Sun, as reported by The Scotsman, that he has a great affinity for the Glasgow club:
“When I was in Glasgow a while ago, I went into a Celtic pub. The people started singing my name. I will never forget that. There is a connection between Celtic and Dortmund supporters.”
Grosskreutz has also been pictured supporting the club at Celtic Park. In fact it is being reported that his entire family are reportedly Celtic followers.
Bild were claiming that Celtic or Liverpool were the German’s dream destination and it certainly looks like Celtic are a potential option.
The 27-year-old has been at Dortmund for six years but last season only played 15 Bundesliga games because of injury and form.
With that in mind the player, who recently underwent successful knee surgery, looks set to leave Dortmund with his contract expiring next summer.
But Grosskreutz is undoubtedly an excellent talent, as indicated by his place in the World Cup winning Germany squad in Brazil last summer, even if he did not make an appearance.
