Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc has told The Sun that he is confident of the club signing Angel di Maria from Manchester United this summer.
The Ligue 1 champions are currently on a pre-season tour of the US, and Blanc hopes that Di Maria joins up with his squad sooner rather than later.
“There is a good possibility he could sign but there is nothing official,” the Frenchman told The Sun.
“There is an anticipation he is going to come to the US but as to which jersey he is going to wear, we don’t know yet.
“If he does make a change hopefully it will be for Paris Saint-Germain. Right now we have to wait because there are two big clubs out there in discussion.”
Bad decision from Manchester United?
Di Maria had a rather disappointing time at United last season after joining them from Real Madrid in the summer of 2014.
After starting the 2014-15 campaign brilliantly, the Argentina international winger fizzled out, although injuries also played a part.
Di Maria had a pass accuracy of 78% and a shot accuracy of 46%, and won 45 dribbles and 11 tackles.
Despite his struggles last season, the former Benfica star is one of the best players in the world and United are making a mistake in letting him go this summer.
