West Ham United took on Charlton Athletic this weekend.
West Ham United have already played plenty of matches this summer, with their pre-season friendlies intermingled with their Europa League qualifying matches.
The Hammers have done well to balance the two so far, with Slaven Bilic’s side through to the third qualifying round of a competition that still has some way to go before it reaches the coveted group stages.
But in between those ties West Ham played their latest domestic friendly against Championship side Charlton Athletic on Saturday, with the two sides battling to a 0-0 draw.
Summer signing Dimitri Payet was the star of the show again, even if he did not get on the score-sheet as he did twice against Southend United.
This time the creative maestro could not help break down a resilient Charlton back-line, but he did his best to entertain regardless, pulling off one wonderful rabona pass that was caught on camera.
Signed following his release from Manchester City last month, the teenager may be West Ham’s biggest coup in quite some time while fellow teenager Reece Oxford also shone at The Valley.
Above and below you can see images from the clash as the Hammers and the Addicks prepared for their respective league campaigns.
