Memphis Depay is making a positive early impression at Manchester United.
The Dutchman became the club's first signing of the summer back in May, and fans have just received their first glimpses of him in action over the past week as the club get their pre-season campaign underway.
United have a 100 per cent record so far on their tour of the US, and Depay has played a prominent role, getting on the scoresheet against San Jose Earthquakes.
He was also selected to start the weekend's glamour friendly against Barcelona, helping the Red Devils on their way to a 3-1 win, with Wayne Rooney, Jesse Lingard and Adnan Januzaj scoring the goals.
Depay's performance caught the eye of former Tottenham striker, and Match of the Day host Gary Lineker, who praised the forward via Twitter.
Early days but I think in Memphis Depay, @ManUtd have found one.— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) July 25, 2015
Depay was outstanding for PSV last season, helping the Dutch side win the Eredivisie title, and is now hoping for similar success with Louis van Gaal's Manchester United side.
As United learned last year, positive results in pre-season count for nothing, losing their opener against Swansea City, and this season face another tough game against Tottenham on the first day.
If Depay continues his pre-season form and gets United off to a winning start, then the plaudits will begin counting for something.
