And the Norwegian is undecided - but says there is 'a chance' last season's top scorer will play from the off in the European tie.
The 24-year-old was on form against Rennes once again on Saturday afternoon but Deila still has to consider whether Nadir Ciftci can keep Griffiths out of the side in the Champions League.
Deila told reporters: "Today he started the game and did well so I’m happy with the way Leigh is performing and developing.
"There’s a chance we’ll go with him on Wednesday. He’s scoring in every game he plays so it’s hard to not play him but it’s a little bit about the opponent and how we think the game is going to be. He shows he’s in good shape."
Deila's comments suggest Ciftci could still be in the frame against Qarabag, with the Norwegian hinting that he is thinking about how the opponent will set up instead of Griffiths's consistent form.
Neither forward is in danger in terms of their place, though, and the continual question over who will start for Celtic seems to suggest the Bhoys boss wants to rotate his strikers.
They say never change a winning team but the challenges of pre-season friendlies and Champions League qualifiers are distinctly different. The problem for Deila is that both Celtic strikers are in good form. But it's a brilliant problem to have.
