According to fresh reports from Sky Sports Italia, Tottenham Hotspur outcast Vlad Chiriches is set to join Fiorentina over the next few days on an initial season-long loan deal.
With Kevin Wimmer strengthening the club’s backline further, Chiriches is seemingly deemed surplus to requirements with Talksport reporting the defender is scheduled to leave the club this summer.
Turkish media Spor.haber7.com has accredited Galatasary with a strong interest, yet the latest reports from Italy suggest that Fiorentina are on the verge of wrapping up a deal.
Outline of the deal:
The figure has been set as a £700,000 season-long loan deal with an obligatory £3.5 million permanent deal once the season is complete, as reported by Sky Sports Italia.
It is suggested that the deal will be completed before Tuesday, with the 25-year-old defender choosing Fiorentina over Galatasary due to his preference of playing in Serie A.
Why Fiorentina have opted for an initial loan deal:
According to a recent report by TMW, La Viola were said to be on the verge of walking away from any potential deal as a result of Spurs’ financial demands, the North Londoners apparently wanting £7 million.
Such a figure, however, is unrealistic considering his lack of action over the past two seasons and the probability of selling him on the European market, not the over-inflated Premier League market.
With Fiorentina working to a tight budget, it would make sense for them to pay a portion now and the rest the following summer, giving them a full 12 months to stump up the necessary funds.
