Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko has been linked with a move to Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to reports that the club are interested in signing Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle United this summer.

Foot Mercato claimed on Friday morning that Spurs had made a formal approach for the France international midfielder, but The Chronicle later reported that no such offer has been received by Newcastle.

There is no smoke without fire, and it will be interesting to see how this story develops over the coming days.

Sissoko is one of the best players in the current Newcastle squad and is powerful midfielder.

The France international scored a hugely important goal against West Ham United at home on the final day of the 2014-15 Premier League campaign.

The 25-year-old scored the opening goal in the Magpies’ 2-0 win against the Hammers at St. James’ Park, a result which helped them retain their Premier League status.

In 34 Premier League appearances last season, Sissoko scored four goals and created 43 chances.

The Frenchman had a pass accuracy of 79% and a shot accuracy of 48%, and he won 47 headers, 85 dribbles and 34 dribbles.

Following reports that Spurs are interested in Sissoko, fans of the North London outfit took to Twitter to have their say.
