Ronny Deila reacts to Celtic win, gives injury update

Celtic defeated Rennes 2-0 at Celtic Park in a pre-season friendly today.

Celtic manager Ronny Deila has been quoted as saying by the club’s official Twitter page that he is happy with his side’s performance against Rennes today.

The Scottish Premiership champions got the better of the French outfit 2-0 at Celtic Park in a pre-season friendly.

Leigh Griffiths put the Hoops in the lead in the 12th minute, and Gary Mackay-Steven doubled the home team’s advantage midway through the first half.

It was a pretty comfortable win for Celtic, who will take on FK Qarabag in a Champions League qualifier on Wednesday.

Deila was pleased with the performance produced by his players today and said the following:

The Norwegian also gave an injury update ahead of Wednesday’s key game.

Celtic will head into the Champions League third qualifying round tie against Qarabag with confidence, although it will not be easy.

The first leg of the tie is at Celtic Park, which means that the Hoops will have to win by a good margin to ease the pressure off themselves for the second leg.
