Report: Everton eye bargain deal for Spanish international Diego Capel of Sporting Lisbon

Sporting Lisbon

The former Sevilla winger is reportedly available on the cheap.

Everton are reportedly rekindling old interest in former Sevilla winger Diego Capel, according to reports.

It is claimed by the Liverpool Echo that the Sporting Lisbon man is interesting Everton, should they lose Belgian attacker Kevin Mirallas this summer.

The former Olympiakos man is keen on a move to a Champions League club and Everton would be willing to sell at the right price.

With that in mind Capel, who earned two caps for Spain in 2008, has emerged as a potential target for The Toffees.

The tricky winger is believed to be available for just £2 milllion and with Gerard Deulofeu now injured Everton’s interest could soon become concrete.

Back in 2008 Capel was linked with plenty of Premier League moves. The Daily Mail claimed that Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Everton were all keen on his signature.

Now it seems he is finally set to make that move to England he has seemingly been destined for.

Is he worth it?

His better days are certainly behind him. His pace is starting to desert him but he certainly still has a trick or two up his sleeve.

The tempter is that price-tag. He is in the final year of his contract and Sporting seem willing to sell on the cheap.

If that is indeed the case then Everton might just fancy rolling the dice, and would be right to do so.
