Report: Burnley increase offer for Nottingham Forest’s Henri Lansbury

Burnley are reportedly interested in signing Henri Lansbury from Championship rivals Nottingham Forest this summer.

Burnley have increased their bid for Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury, according to The Nottingham Post.

It has been reported by the newspaper that the Clarets’ initial bid for Lansbury was considered too low by their Championship rivals.

Sean Dyche’s side, though, appear determined to sign the 24-year-old and have returned with a seriously improved bid, according to The Nottingham Post.

Should Henri Lansbury join Burnley?

Burnley featured in the Premier League last season, and they will be aiming to gain automatic promotion from the Championship during the upcoming 2015-16 campaign.

Forest will also be aiming for promotion, but they would most likely have to settle for a place in the top six of the Championship.

The 24-year-old former Arsenal midfielder will certainly have the ambition of playing in the Premier League, but he is a valued member of the Forest squad and has been part of the team since 2012.

While one can understand the temptation to switch to Burnley, perhaps it would be best for Lansbury if he remains at the City Ground for one more season at least.
