Manchester United transfer news: Di Maria and Pedro latest; Ibrahimovic talks about van Gaal

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

According to a report from the Mirror Angel Di Maria is expected to complete a £45.9million move from Manchester United to Paris Saint-Germain by next weekend.

The report claims PSG are confident they have secured a deal for the Argentine international and that things will be in place to ensure he leaves the club’s American tour in a week as a member of the French club’s squad.

Di Maria has struggled at times since becoming United’s club-record signing and the latest report claims United are closing in on Barcelona player Pedro as a replacement for the former Real Madrid man.

In other news, the Daily Mail has published quotes that Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave to the print copy of Sports Illustrated regarding United manager Louis van Gaal.

The Swedish international has been linked with a surprise move to Old Trafford this summer and while he did not address those rumours directly he did talk about the prospect of working with the Dutch manager.

“At the end, I think he is professional and I am professional,” the PSG forward said. “Whoever I work with, I never had this kind of problem, because at the end I need to do my job, he needs to do his job.”

United are arguably a striker light ahead of the new campaign and the prospect of Wayne Rooney playing alongside the Swede is a tantalising is unlikely one.
