West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic is not on Twitter, but first-team coach Julian Dicks is.

West Ham United first-team coach Julian Dicks has suggested on social networking site Twitter that club manager Slaven Bilic is unlikely to come on the social networking site.

Dicks is an active user of Twitter and often replies to questions from West Ham fans.

Bilic, though, is not on Twitter, and Dicks has indicated that his former Hammers’ teammate is unlikely to create an account any time soon.

Should Slaven Bilic come on Twitter?

A number of high-profile managers working in English football have their own official Twitter accounts, such as Ronald Koeman of Southampton and Garry Monk of Swansea City.

It makes sense for managers to interact with fans on social media, but this can also have a negative impact, especially in the aftermath of heavy defeats.

Bilic is hugely popular among the West Ham fans, who will surely want to interact with him on Twitter.

However, perhaps it is best at this moment in time that the 46-year-old maintains a certain distance between him and the fans.

After all, if things start to go wrong, it would not come as a surprise if the fans turn on him.
