The French international has been speaking about who inspired him on Twitter.

Talented Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma has been talking to the official Twitter account of the club today about many things, including his influences growing up.

The Frenchman, who shone when called into action last season, has in the past been compared to a former Chelsea hero in Marcel Desailly.

Desailly spent six years at Chelsea, playing over 150 league games for the club and becoming a fan favourite at Stamford Bridge.

The pair have similar playing styles, and like Desailly, Zouma has shown a propensity for playing in midfield.

Now he has revealed himself that he did indeed idolise Desailly growing up. The former Saint Etienne mane stated on Twitter that Desailly was a big influence growing up, with his current team-mate John Terry also in there:

Zouma had an excellent debut term at the club and his performances rightly saw him compared to Desailly at times.

He played 26 times for the club in his first campaign, more than he likely imagines before the start of the season. He even managed to net two goals in the process.

Chelsea fans will be hoping he continues to develop into the next Desailly from next season on.
