Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, Leicester City, West Bromwich Albion, West Ham United and Aston Villa have all been linked with Islam Slimani.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has told Sapo Desporto that he is interested in signing Islam Slimani from Sporting Lisbon this summer.

“Slimani is a great player,” former Newcastle United boss Pardew told Sapo Desporto. “We have observed him for a long time. He has great quality.”

Palace will face competition for the services of the Algeria international striker, as there are a number of Premier League clubs interested in him.

Earlier this month, HITC Sport reported that Newcastle, Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion are all keen on the 27-year-old.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, West Ham United are also interested in Slimani, who has drawn attention from Aston Villa, according to The Mirror.

Could Crystal Palace snap up Islam Slimani?

It seems that Palace are facing a stiff challenge to sign the highly-rated Algeria international striker.

However, the Eagles have shown ambition in the summer transfer window, and they could well secure the services of Slimani.

The former CR Belouizdad star is unlikely to come cheap, though, and Sporting may not necessarily be willing to sell him this summer.
