HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that West Bromwich Albion are preparing an improved offer for Nottingham Forest winger Michail Antonio.
West Brom boss Tony Pulis has made Antonio one of his top targets this summer and saw a £4million bid rejected by Forest earlier this month as the Championship club battle to keep their prize asset – as revealed by HITC Sport.
However, West Brom are ready to up their offer for Antonio and have been encouraged by the player's desire to make a move to The Hawthorns.
Antonio would welcome a move to West Brom as the 25-year-old is keen to test himself in the Premier League and he is ready to move on if West Brom can agree a fee with Forest.
West Brom have held a long-term interest in Antonio, having seen a move for the player rejected by Forest in the January transfer window.
Antonio was one of the stars of the Championship last season, starting every league game and scoring 15 goals for Forest.
West Brom have only brought in James McClean so far this summer, but they are hoping their new bid for Antonio will persuade Forest to sell so that he can become their second signing of pre-season.
