Twitter reacts to Rodolph Austin's performance for Jamaica v USA

Released by Leeds United, midfielder Rodolph Austin starred as Jamaica beat USA in the Gold Cup.

Rodolph Austin starred as Jamaica upset favourites USA to reach the Gold Cup final for the first time in their history.

Jamaica won 2-1 against Jurgen Klinsmann's side, who were the tournament hosts.

Austin was a standout performer, working tirelessly in central midfield and embodying the committed spirit of the Jamaican side.

He is currently a free agent, after being released by Leeds United, a club where he previously wore the captain's armband.

Leeds have since moved to replace him with loan signing Tom Adeyemi from Cardiff City, but even so any fans watching last night would have been asking whether the club made the right decision in letting him leave on a free transfer.

Austin, 30, played 112 times for Leeds, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists.

There is likely to be considerable interest in his signature as a result of his performances, and had it not been for his involvement at the Gold Cup, so soon after the Copa America, it is likely he would already have secured his future.

His display against USA was the talk of Twitter, with fans praising his efforts. Here is a look at what was said...
