It is thought that the La Liga giants are considering sanctioning a loan move for the young midfielder in 2015/16, with the 19-year-old unlikely to break into their treble-winning midfield of last season.
That midfield has also had Arda Turan added to it this summer, meaning there is even greater competition for the youngster - although the former Atletico Madrid man cannot play until a transfer embargo comes to an end in January.
Halilovic is aware that not playing regularly is going to do his ongoing development few favours, claims the Daily Mail report, and he is keen for Barca to explore all of the options available to him.
Sevilla his preferred destination
Should he be made available, there would likely be a scramble for his services, with West Ham and Sevilla also interested in his services - according to the Daily Mail article. Of the three clubs, it is likely that the La Liga side would be his preferred destination.
They will be embarking on a Champions League run next season after winning the 2015 Europa League, while they will also likely challenge for a top-four place in the league.
Sending him there would also mean Barca can keep a closer eye on him, although a move to Everton may appeal after former Barca starlet Gerard Deulofeu flourished there the year before last.
Halilovic would likely be keen to emulate that success, although European football would be more desirable with Sevilla, or even West Ham should their Europa League qualifying campaign see them reach the group stages.
