Massimo Luongo is off to a great start at QPR, and the season has not even begun.
The new signing scored the winner against Dundee United in their latest friendly match, netting an impressive header after a Matty Phillips cross.
Phillips had scored the opener, showing the form which has made him a transfer target for Premier League sides this summer.
Luongo signed from League One challengers Swindon Town after a standout season, which also saw him play a prominent role at international level as Australian won the Asian Cup early in 2015.
A former Tottenham trainee, the 22-year-old was wanted by Premier League sides before electing to move to Loftus Road, with The Mail reporting Aston Villa's efforts to bring him aboard.
QPR are likely to be contending for promotion this coming campaign, and while they face a battle to keep hold of star striker Charlie Austin, who made his return to action against Dundee United, new signing Luongo can help alleviate any disappointment if the forward is sold.
Fellow new boy Tjaronn Chery did not feature, and the prospect of the pair linking up, along with Matty Phillips on the wings, is an exciting one for fans.
Here is a look at the reaction to Luongo's display...

Very much a work in progress. We'll win some games, lose others but we'll definitely improve as the season goes on. Luongo is a baller #QPR— Tom Hyland (@TomHyland4) July 22, 2015
Massimo Luongo is the all action centre midfielder we've needed for ages. A potential fans' favourite in the making. #QPR— Jack Supple (@Jack_Supple) July 23, 2015
