HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Leeds United striker Billy Sharp has left the club's pre-season tour to return to England and finalise his move to Sheffield United.
Sharp has been given permission to leave Leeds' pre-season tour of Austria to hold talks and undergo a medical at Bramall Lane.
The two clubs have been locked in talks for weeks about a possible deal for Sharp, and it appears an agreement has been finally reached.
Sharp was left out of Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt and Uwe Rosler has given the green light for the player to move on, feeling he has enough options up front following the summer arrival of Chris Wood from Leicester City.
Sheffield United boss Nigel Adkins had made Sharp one of his top targets ever since taking charge at Bramall Lane this summer as is big fan of the player having worked with him during his time in charge of Scunthorpe United and Southampton.
Sharp is expected to tie up his move back to Sheffield United in the next 24 hours and will become the club's second signing of the summer following the arrival of Martyn Woolford.
