Everton will always occupy a special place in the heart of Tim Cahill, and the Australian decided to show his appreciation for the Goodison Park faithful in a new social media posting.
July 23rd 2015 marks the 11-year anniversary of the day in which Cahill completed his move from Millwall to Everton.
All told, Cahill played eight full seasons with the Goodison Park outfit, before heading to Major League Soccer with the New York Red Bulls.
However, his love for Everton remains as strong as ever, with this Facebook post marking this historic date in the life of Cahill showing as much:
Both chairman Bill Kenwright and former Everton manager David Moyes are name-checked in the message.
Currently with Shanghai Shenhua in China, where he has scored six goals in 19 games to date, Cahill remains as important as ever for the Socceroos.
An Asian Cup winner with Australia as hosts earlier this year, Cahill’s finest hour came in the quarter-finals with a match-winning brace in a 2-0 win over China.
He may be a national team legend but, when it comes to the Premier League, he will always be remembered for his Everton glory days.
