The Hammers snapped up one Argentine earlier today, bringing in playmaker Manuel Lanzini on a season-long loan deal from Al-Jazira.
Now, they are seemingly turning their attention to another Argentine in Atalanta striker Denis, with the Hammers in need of a new striker.
Andy Carroll's injury problems continue, leaving new manager Slaven Bilic with only Diafra Sakho, Enner Valencia and Modibo Maiga as centre forward options.
It's therefore no surprise to see West Ham making moves to sign a new striker, and having already signed two players from Serie A already this summer in Pedro Obiang and Angelo Ogbonna, they could return to Italian football for more reinforcements.
TMW report that West Ham have started discussions with Atalanta over a deal for 33-year-old target man Denis, who has scored 48 goals in 134 games for Atalanta.
What would Denis offer West Ham?
Nicknamed 'The Tank', Denis may be nearly 34, but he possesses freakish strength as well as superb aerial ability, making him a perfect target man figure.
With Carroll injured, Denis could fill a similar role perfectly, even if he would only be a short-term solution given his less than ideal age.
Denis possesses little experience outside of South America and Italy, which may be cause for concern for some Hammers fans - but Denis possesses the ability to make an impact in the Premier League thanks to his physical attributes.
