Newcastle want Boetius, also linked to Tottenham, Arsenal and Southampton.
He has one year left of his contract at De Kuip, and the Magpies are hoping to sign for him roughly £2 million, with a summer departure from Feyenoord expected.
The same report references interest in Boestius from three of Newcastle’s Premier League rivals though, with Tottenham, Arsenal and Newcastle all stated as tracking the winger for much of the summer.
However, no clubs have yet to make an offer for the 21-year-old, and the Magpies are hoping to steal a march on their rivals by approaching the Eredivisie outfit in the coming days concerning a transfer.
What are the chances of Newcastle signing Boetius?
The young winger’s career at Feyenoord looks to be at and end, and the Magpies could be the team to benefit.
Despite being a promising youngster, who has over 100 competitive appearances to his name - as well as a senior Dutch cap - the 2014/15 season saw Boetius’s career stall as first-team chances were harder to come by.
Bad management saw him out of the team, and although Gio van Bronckhorst has been appointed Feyenoord head coach, the youngster does not want to sign a contract extension due to his recent issues at the club.
This means the club are being pushed to sell him this summer to ensure they do not lose Boetius for free next summer, and the Magpies could be the team to benefit by signing a truly talented prospect.
